About Me
I am Jac, the founder and director of Authentically Autistic. I am a late-diagnosed, neurodivergent (Autistic/ADHD) mum, and a primary school teacher of 15 years.
My focus is a 1-1, boutique service, with care and compassion to meet the needs and interests of my clients, ensuring safety and connection are the priority of sessions. I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent young people to build their skills and knowledge of self so they can thrive in life. It is also very important to build strong relationships with my clients’ support people, fostering honesty and safety to work as a team.
In my free time, I love reading, spending time with my family, exploring nature, learning about wolves and horses, watching my favourite show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and rubbing up next to my cat, Bruno and my dog, Milo.
My Qualifications include:
Bachelor of Education (Primary) - Griffith University (2007)
Full Registation with the Qld College of Teachers
Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies - Griffith University (2022)
Masters of Autism - Griffith University - Ongoing (expected finish 2028)
I think the biggest ways that you have provided support/guidance to our family are:
* learning how to bridge the gap between being a neurodivergent person living in a world that is built for the neurotypical
* working alongside us to develop a learning profile that is flexible and evolving around our needs
